May Net Worth Update

It has been a good month. Thanks to the stock market and my continued efforts to save, my net worth was up a total of 3.64% this month.

I also purchased 200 shares of General Electric. Let's hope the stock is at the bottom of its position. I think the 4% dividend yield is quite attractive and the company is still very profitable.

What do you guys think of the GE stock?

    I usually try to stay away from single company stocks. Remember Enron, Worldcom and a bunch of others? Unless you have a really understanding of the finacials of the company. Its not a good choice. I usually try to go with a good mutual fund that doesnt rob me of 2-3% a year and my taxable invest acct is with a bunch of diversified etfs.

    Congrats on the buy!

    Personally, I don't know much about GE. Lots of structural changes. For example, they sold off their appliances division I think, but they've got their hands into all kinds of stuff....

    Major trading during the middle of this month, but otherwise, it appears to be moving along with the market. I would hang on and enjoy the dividend. Smile
